Wireless charging destroyed also my iPhone's 11 battery and now when I try to charge it, it's overheating. Probably time to upgrade whole phone since battery replacement is $115 in my country.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

I have the same issue. Phone overheating and not charging. 15 Pro is a joke.

To anyone saying "turn your screen off" I'm using my phone as GPS. If $1000 can't charge and keep screen on then something is wrong with this POS.

I like how no one can provide a viable answer yet people keep screaming no at anyone that brings up AOD. Like 23 pure hours of screen time is CLEARLY unreasonable and unrealistic. SOMETHING is causing it. Yet AOD seems to be the BEST answer so far. It’s the ONLY thing that makes sense. No one can provide better reasoning ☠️

mmmm perfectly cooked lithium

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Bro for me magsafe takes ages, with USB-C + 20W it takes 45 minutes. Just plug that badboy in if you don’t want to complain for battery health issues anytime soon.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

that’s why i came back from magsafe to classical lighting charger

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

I use MagSafe pretty much exclusively and have never had this issue

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

This is definitely a bug. I also use StandBy with MagSafe and this is not how your Activity should look at all. Regardless look into your case.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

bro have you tried not using it while charging?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Is this with apple’s MagSafe charger or third party producer?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I mean 23 hours can make the phone temp go up

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It’s the combination of StandBy display timeout set to “never” and what looks like constant MagSafe charging. They’re going to need that graphene heat sink system that’s rumored for the 16 or 17 Pro. lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I have it set to ‘never’ through the night using AOD and StandBy. It contributes to ‘Screen Idle’ but not ‘Screen Active’ or screen time. I have 14PM so not sure if it is different on previous models if they don’t have AOD.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

I wouldn’t think “never” is an option for models that don’t have AOD.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

I use my phone on wireless charger in my car ash dashcam running camera 24/7 when I drive and car temp is around 21 degrees Celsius and not running hot at all. And I only wireless charge. Also have a case.

If I was you I would check what app is using so much power that it heats up your phone. Yes even on background some faulty app design can make your phone run hot.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

The issue is you’re phone been on MagSafe charger from 9pm till 6pm the next day that’s 21 hours mate.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I Am not sure if standby mode actually counts as screen active time, shouldn’t matter either way.

Do you have a case on your phone?

Do you use the Apple 20W charger?

Does your phone do any background tasks while charging? (Apart fro, standby)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

I wanna know HOW?!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Theirs a dip of 15 min probably a bathroom break around 6/7

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

No wonder it’s overheating lol something’s hogging his phone

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

His phone got the electric chair 😭

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Tbh, having the screen on the entire time the phone was on charge wouldn’t help. You probably have StandBy set to never turn off the screen. If that’s your personal preference then you may run into this issue often

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

You’re phone been on charge for nearly 22 hours bro. No wonder it’s hot mate. Looks like you just constantly have your phone on charge all time.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

The iPhone does not heat up due to charging. You keep it in a hot environment, that’s the problem

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

It absolutely does heat up due to charging. Wireless charging is less efficient because more of the energy is wasted into heat.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

False. Wireless charging regardless of method (qi or MagSafe) causes heat in the device and charging coils. This is part of the ecosystem, no way around it. It’s extremely inefficient.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

My phone has never had a cable pluggeg in, in over 2 years. Definitely not the issue

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Mine gets hot on the MagSafe single charger, but NOT with the Otterbox stand charger. I have two of them now.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

jesus, mary, and joseph do you work on your phone or sum

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

I use my samsung wireless charging pad with the iphone. No issues at all.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Have your iPhone diagnosed. Apple can do it remotely. I believe MagSafe and cases don’t work together.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

It could be charging during cleaner energy times. Could also be the smart charging based on use age.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

100% activity ? Every time ?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

OP’s first day trying to mine bitcoin on the iPhone

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

you know why it’s hot?You made it to be hot.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

iPhone 15 Pro, MagSafe Charging only, no problem for me.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

My dude, you can’t just run 24/7 hentai marathons without using any battery. This isn’t a battery issue, it’s a “touch grass” issue.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Something’s wrong there.. I only charge via MagSafe most of the time and the phone doesn’t heat up at all, I do lie it on a thawing board overnight which acts like a heatsink

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

No way. Dont use your phone as mining device hahaha

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

MagSafe ruined my 13 pro max battery. Never again will I use it

I use only MagSafe unless I need a quicker charge. It’s not MagSafe that’s your problem…put your phone down and “touch grass” as the kids say.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago
