Not gonna lie - it looks great. Just wondering what the price point for this will be. I feel like it might be in a weird spot - you can get ebikes from Honda for under $1k and if you flirt with anything higher than $5k you start to compete with gas bikes. Hopefully it's priced in a good range there to be competitive.

IIRC Honda has an air cooled IC bike for about $3500, but what sub 1k ebike do they sell?

It's a super compact ebike - basically a suitcase with wheels but it's just at $1,000. Personally I'd love to get one and know full well this suitcase bike isn't anything like the Super73 but it's really to showcase the floor for these types of bikes:

That's not an ebike, that's a scooter. I got excited that Honda made an affordable ebike there for a second...

Sorry about that - not well versed on the difference between the classes. I originally thought an ebike was a bike with an electric motor attached, but I've seen quite a few articles about wheeled conveyances that I wouldnt classify as a bike being called one. My bad

No worries, the term ebike gets thrown around pretty loosely in the media and even by manufacturers sometimes.

Doesn't help that it's kind of complicated too: Classifications of different types of ebikes vary from country to country, but basically as a rough guide, if you can pedal it, it would probably be regarded as an ebike. If it's something where you don't pedal, it's probably some sort of scooter.

Thanks bud, I appreciate the clarification! Hope you have a good rest of your week!

Thanks, me too lol.

Also, you as well.

Nothing about the article to add, but the gulf colors on an electric vehicle always makes me laugh

Not bad. I'd ride either of those. I wonder about speed, range and charge times, but all in all am looking forward to quiet bikes. Are any of the e-bikes using generative brakes? How's the acceleration? There's a lot of potential, but it's not going to be an easy sell to motorcyclists that are very performance minded and ate up the ' loud pipes save lives ' horseshit that boomers on Harleys spewed as absolute truth for so long that the squids adopted it.

"Squid" refers to people who blast down the highway on sportbikes while wearing their favorite protective gear: shorts, sandals, sunglasses. Maybe a t shirt if they are feeling fancy.

I used to hang out with some guys who rode dual sports, and every one of them had some kind of loud exhaust on them. I remember also them finding out I had a harely, and them being confused when it was neither loud, or covered in chrome.

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
