Yeah, to find out why the book sucks so bad

They're rave reviews because the reviewers were high on drugs and listening to shitty music

ah so :isntrael: style

10,000,000 sold

150,000 5 star reviews

That seems like a bad ratio

"Conversions" on reviews are weird.

Dwarf Fortress has 28800 reviews on steam right now. A year ago they announced a million sales. So ~3%. (Using them since I knew they had said SOMETHING about sale numbers. Other games have too but I couldn't recall them.)

For that 150k/1m = ~1.5%. (And thats just 1 category, if 1-4 stars had the same itd be like 8% of purchases left a review).

1-3% is pretty usual from my understanding, unless the thing has some sort of motivation to review. (Like a good game, or a bad book.)

Free! Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money to print books with!

i listened to that book on my 1-2 hour daily commutes to and from work back when I was 21. I liked it to some degree but there was always something that bothered me about how it was so neatly wrapped up in business people good everyone else lazy bad. At that time I was just a run of the mill lib who never put much thought into any politics aside from "sorry I'm from Texas and I didn't vote for Bush" comments and things like that I would post on Digg.

I do remember a straight-a student I went to high school with, who was never a friend of mine, somehow reached out to me on Facebook or whatever and asked if I'd ever read that book. It was bizarrely coincidental because I just had. The two of us never talked in high school and we never talked again after he went on raving about the book, which kinda soured my opinion of it to be honest.

it's wild to look back at that time.
