i found someone who’s wanting to sell me this MacBook, but i do not know what intel chip it is. i was reading the differences between the i3 and i5 but i am still confused lol. how can i tell the what intel chip this is? is this the base model? whats a good price for this considering the next 5 years?

Basically, from what I've read about this Mac, the i5 is the same as i3 in single-core tasks, while it is better for multi-core. In 2023 there is really no pint in buying Mac on i3, even for web-browsing. You can check what chip you have in " -> About this Mac" section. As for the price, I can't really tell you as I don't know where are you from, if from US, then on Apple website Air on M1 is from 999$, Air on M2 is from 1099$. I would say that a good price for i5 is about 700$ (I am not from US so maybe I'm completely wrong)

it was literally 1 photo bc she’s selling other stuff too, but price was $500 but i got her down to $350. overall i feel like its a good deal not considering the longevity of the device. why would you say there’s no point even for web browsing in future?

If it is core i3, it won’t be enough for mostly everything in 2023, it was ok in 2020, but not now really, if it is core i5, then you’ll be fine for light tasks
