Not that other countries don't have racism, but American sheer dedication to it is impressive

*Racism whipped up to distract us from class warfare.

Honestly you could say that about any of the centuries involving the US.

Not just the US. Pretty much all of the history of "the west". (and undoubtedly elsewhere, I'm just far less familiar with eastern history)

Turns out most humans are either pieces of shit, unaware of what the pieces of shit are doing, or don't care about what the pieces of shit are doing.

Or just don't have the upward mobility to do anything about it.

Just have to point out, Luigi did something on a small budget

Wait, what is the implication here? That protests and LGBT rights are just racism in disguise?

[-] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 6 points 5 days ago

Now now, at least part of it is corruption

Once you find out that the Nazis were heavily inspired by US policy towards minorities (Jim Crow laws, disenfranchisement, etc.) things start to make a lot more sense.

Racism only exists because of the lower half of the intelligence bell curve. Humanity is so disappointing.

I've seen some quite intelligent people being racist.
Imo the underlying cause of it is what in machine learning is known as Overfitting - pattern recognition amped up to the level it becomes incorrect

I think a better explaination is simple in-group out-group behaviors. Humans have a tendency to separate themselves into in-groups (us) and out-groups (them). And the most obvious differentiation between people is the way they look. So peoples brains made a consensus that "people who look like this are the in group, and everyone else is the out group". And the in-group gets trust and preferential treatment, while the out-group is feared and excluded. Once the groups are defined, explainations about intelligence or aggression or moral character are applied post-hoc to explain why the outgroup is excluded

That sounds more like where stereotypes come from.

Sure, racism is a form of stereotype, but amped up to 11.

Only morons allow such stupid thinking to hit 11.

and yes, some "smart" people are absolute morons. "book smart" is a saying for a reason.

Racism isnt a matter of intelligence, but of social programming. It's In-group versus out-group dynamics and often has little to do with race. Very intelligent people get caught in the trap though less intelligent people get caught easier. You see this in church scandals all the time. People say they would mob justice a pedophile but when it turns out it was the pastor at their big mega church who very tearfully asked god for forgiveness, suddenly it's not so bad. Because he's our pastor, not like those sick Catholics, ammiright?
