As mentioned panoramic images can go up to 60+ MP, because images are stitched together horizontally. MP count is relative to image size, so the MP count goes up.

It’s a panoramic photo. It stitches photos together and that makes it a higher resolution. You can tell it’s panoramic by the missing data in the top right corner.

Worth noting that mp is size, not quality. So while the panoramic photos are big, they are not better resolution.

Panoramas go all the way to 63 Megapixel AFAIK

I know what he did he just captured it on iphone 7 using panoramic mode and then he cropped it so that it shows 22MP u can try it yourself also see like this
