The xbox should be connected to the router as well. Opening a port on the Xbox would require running an application or having terminal access on the Xbox itself. Are you trying to open the Xbox port to the public?

a small network switch is the right answer here. skips figuring out windows settings and doesn't rely on your PC being on.
