I’m trying to add Ethernet backhaul to my mesh wifi network, and the simplest way in one area would be to run a cat 6 cable along the basement floor for about 10 feet. Concrete floor, unfinished basement.

Is this ok to do??

My concerns would be trip hazard, but I’m planning to run a floor conduit over it.

Other concern is water intrusion if the basement gets moist or floods, but I think all that would happen is the cable getting fried, right?

Any reason I can’t run Ethernet cable along concrete basement floor?

The cable itself should be largely waterproof. Not that I’d want it to get wet, but all in all you should be fine. The ENDS of the cable and whatever they’re plugged into would not be waterproof, so don’t set the gear on the floor.
