I fuckin did, an hour of swimming and my pecs are ready to swing a golf club at a nazi's teeth

I'm losing weight so it's less stress on my taxed joints to exercise well. Using an under the desk elliptical for some light exercise. I will then go to the range to train more.

[-] FedX@quokk.au 1 points 1 hour ago

No. I injured myself doing BMX(ish) style street riding. Nothing too bad, but I will be off the bike and doing leg-only exercises for a week or two. I was also in a no riding zone, during graduation on a fairly capitalistic college campus, but hey, biking's not a crime (and even if it was, legality != morality)!

A fascist practiced a skill today, did you?

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 8 hours ago

Because weak leftist’s soy boys don’t exercise.

Source: I’m a weak leftist spy boy that doesn’t exercise.

[-] BurnedDonutHole@ani.social 1 points 9 hours ago

I fucked my Achilles tendon. Staying home and feeling miserable.

[-] IEatDaFeesh@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Buy a pull up bar and elastic bands.

[-] BurnedDonutHole@ani.social 1 points 8 hours ago

It's fresh and the painkillers make me feel like I'm drunk. Maybe after a week.

This is an individualist approach, a productivist one and a validist one. I see you point : people shall prepare But the next question is : to do what ?

If you want to prepare to run: run if you want to prepare to climb : climb if you want to prepare to fight : fight

This not an RPG, muscles could act counter-productively (it's weight more, and need more calories).

But most importantly, prepare to do it collectively. Some of us have the health and condition to prepare to do some of this, and may need to be recall that they have a responsibility to do so, because some of us don't. Futhermore in most situations it's better to be 3 people not well prepared than one fit. So take care of you community and make it grow

this reads like it was copy pasted from a translation app. What is a validist, productivist, individualist approach? its such a bizarre critique of a meme.

[-] menas@lemmy.wtf 2 points 6 hours ago

Is more an injonction than a meme ; it implies that we should "go to gym" to oppose to fascists. So it suppose that strong and athletics body are more valid for antifascism than the others. Gym, exercise and workout are more linked with work than with games : we try to improve our performances, making stats, having regularity and so on. According to Johan Huizinga in "Homo Ludens", sports is the opposite of game, and is how the modern era twist games to match desires of productive bodies.

I'm not saying that sports, gym, workout, box, running are bad; if people enjoy it, it's enough. However I think the the injonction is counter-productive. For every situation we may wish to have a shaped body they is a collective answer that more people participate : so it's more inclusive and create more social link

[-] godsammitdam@lemmy.zip 60 points 1 day ago

This is the better version. Don't need to go to a gym to exercise.

[-] A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 19 hours ago

Thanks, I will add it to my meme folder

[-] EggInDisguise@lemmy.blahaj.zone 75 points 1 day ago

No, gyms are capitalism honeypots for fitbros

I work out at home with body weight and everyday heavy objects.

Also yoga.

[-] vikingtons@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

a decently kitted home gym is surprisingly attainable if you can spare the space!

[-] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 4 points 16 hours ago

And there's resistance bands, which if combined with a door anchor can replace weights for a fraction of the space and cost. A doorframe pull up bar would be the last piece of kit a home gym would really need when combined with the bands and calisthenics.

[-] vikingtons@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

I use resistance bands as well. I'm not sure they'd be a replacement for my rack and all that but it's a great place to start

Skip the gym. Work on your garden. Doesn't matter how swole you are when the famine starts.

[-] Magnum@infosec.pub 12 points 21 hours ago

Said the guy that got murdered over his garden during a famine by the most swolen beast of the neighborhood.

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 7 points 14 hours ago

That's what the garden ornaments are for!

[-] A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 19 hours ago

That's what neighborhood militias are for.

[-] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 5 points 21 hours ago

God didn't make all men equal. Smith and Wesson did.

The original quote was more like

“God made man, Samuel Colt made them equal”

[-] Magnum@infosec.pub 2 points 20 hours ago

So you now live in a world where you can't leave the house without getting sniped.

[-] putainsdetoiles@lemmy.world 33 points 1 day ago

I never skip leg day. My leg extension PR is 365 lbs. I want my quads to be so strong that fascists’ balls vaporize when I kick them.

[-] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

You should try kickboxing if you haven't already

[-] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 16 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yeah because we all know capitalists rule the world because they are the best at punching.

That said you should still go to the gym (or otherwise exercise) because it is good for you and you are important :)

[-] Kasane_Teto@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 1 day ago

does 16k steps and at home pilates count?

Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.
