I wanted an Apple Watch. Whatever option that fits under.
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
Because I’m forced to and do not have the patience to transfer what I have in iCloud and AppStore to anything but Crapple. And my son now has Apple ID with an iPad I need to have family share to manage his use and he loved Minecraft. I can’t jump ship.
I picked "It's a good phone" but it's more because of accessibilty tools.
option 5: I test it to see myself if I like it or not
I wanted an apple watch and they go together.
Fuck Reddit.
Also you.
My Dad bought me an iPad and I bought apps. I've been stuck in the iOS ecosystem since. I don't love or hate iOS. I just don't want to lose access to apps that I've already paid for and having devices in the same ecosystem just makes syncing easier and cheaper.
I switched from Android to iOS a while ago because i bought myself my first Apple Product for a while; AirPods. I was missing the integration in iOS so i gave the base iPhone 11 (in purple) a shot. Instantly i remembered my good time with my last iPhone, the 4s. After that, i bought myself an iPad Air 5 + Pen. iPhone + iPad worked perfectly so i kept buying myself Apple Products. Next in Line was a MacBook (MacBook Air m2), my old Laptop was dying so i gave the Mac a chance. iPhone, iPad + MacBook works even better. Sidecar and Universal Control are awesome. After that, I bought an AppleTV 4K and my old SmartTV had a second live. After I dropped my iPhone 11 in water, the FaceID stopped working, so I waited for the iPhone 15 release and preordered the 15 Pro and I love it! + I ordered the new AirPods Pro 2nd Gen USB-C. I just love the ecosystem and the integration...
I loved the 4s I still have mine haha
Got tired of getting kicked out of family group texts for being the green bubble. ;)
Not just "good phone" it's the best phone. It always has been and probably always will be.
I want the best phone out there and the Exynos variant of the Samsung isn't it.
I got my first one in 2008 when there weren’t any comparable devices. It does what I need so I’ve never had a reason to get something different.
It's slightly less shitty than an android
I mostly use it for iMessage and iPhones get better trade in values than Pixels.
I have the iPhone 7 Plus RED Edition, but I choose to replace it with an Android due to the software warnings if some parts will be replaced. I'm a technician, understand me.
Lack of quality competition. I've owned all the phones, used all the OS's. Especially with Android, the hardware quality control is all over the place. Samsung phones, Google phones, all of the ones I owned had major quality issues with that were deal breakers. I'm also at a place where I want less customization and tinkering. Also, Android not knowing what to do with a tablet pushed me to iPads a while back.
Waiting for Google to un-f*ck their Pixels. Tensor and those crap under-the-screen fingerprint scanners are deal breakers.
iOS + best phone in terms of build quality + best customer support + best handoff (MacBook, iMac, iPhone)
I've had several models of both Android and iPhone over the years. I just like iPhone better. The ecosystem just works well. Apps are relatively consistent and reliable. The UI is smooth. And my iPhones have consistently held up longer over the years. My current phone is almost 5 years old and it works as well as the day I bought it. Every Android I've had is left behind after just a couple years. They would get bogged down with junk files and constant crashes.
Son gave me one years ago, and now I'm in.
Waiting till the Tesla phone comes out.
You forgot to add an "apps" section. As an android user who uses an iPad for college work, I've been very impressed with the note taking/college focused apps devs have made. I still prefer android on my phone but I like having access to facetime/iMessage and apps like notability on my iPad. Gives me access to the best of both worlds.
Ive been using android my whole life, about 13 years.. I was huge google and android fanboy, I was very active member on xda and I rooted over 5 phones and tried out over 20 custom roms and kernels. I loved tinkering with it and I thought I will never go on iOS side.. last year i got bored of android so i wanted to try iOS and I doubt im going back anytime soon.. For me the best part of iOS vs android is that its so much more fluid.. i dont know if thats because of optimizations or animations but iOS just works so well and I love it.. i needed android to transfer some old images to my iphone and battery was empty, i charged the battery and when I turned it on it needed like 1 minute to stop lagging to become USABLE it still lagged ocasionally... iphone never did that
I wanted a small phone (went with the 13 mini) but from 2020 all the android manufacturers decided to make pocket TVs
They just work for all age groups and the added benefit of having major os updates for 6 years guaranteed instead of android which even the expensive models are lucky to see even more than 2 years of android updates
Wife badgered me because I didn't have imsg. I'm in telecom and fundamentally against proprietary protocols. But she's my wife and dgaf. So, I switched. Also was a pixel user for years and bought into the whole bullshit AI processor. As soon as the iphone got USB-C, that was the final nail in the Android coffin for me. Also, they just look better and I want people troubleshooting the software to not have 1000's of different HW models to troubleshoot through. Another thing I feel makes the Apple experience slightly more superior.
It's a good phone and more convenient for me compared to Android.
iMessage/facetime. If I could have those seemlessly integrated in a Pixel, I’d sell my iPhone right now.
I had an Android in the past, they pissed me off and Windows/BB were on their way out so there are no other real options.
That and while Apple does have its annoying quirks at times they do make a quality product.
It's the top three for me.
