Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I updated to 0.0.35 today and get this server version every time the app is opened. Is this a bug? My home server administrator told me that 0.17.4 is the most current server version

Did you search this community before posting? This has been addressed at least a few times in the last few hours.

Lemmy is pushing an update scheduled for tomorrow. This version of Jerboa (0.0.35), is to match the upcoming server-side upgrade.

Yup. If you're seeing that message, things are likely to break. I know it three things that are broken:

  • logging in
  • marking posts as read
  • saving posts - crashes, but works

There are probably more. Just be patient until everyone upgrades to the latest lemmy version.

afaik 0.18.0 is supposed to release tomorrow, idk why Jerboa would be requiring it though

It's because lemmy.ml has already upgraded to test the upgrade process, and Jerboa works with that.

You can either downgrade or deal with some jankiness until instances upgrade. Supporting multiple lemmy versions is a lot of work and not something the Jerboa project has had the resources to do. Hopefully 0.19 will be smoother.
