Hello, I have cable internet which I’m pretty sure just runs under my house through the floor and into my modem. I recently switched modems and now I’m unable to connect to the internet although I connected to the device and logged in using the preshared key.

Whenever I attempt to connect it’s able to obtain the IP address but not connect to the internet so I can’t even visit my router access page.

Any help would be appreciated. Both modems are Arris brand and the cable connection works on the previous one but not the one I’m trying to use now.

You may need to contact the ISP to have the new modem added to the account.

You must register the MAC address of the modem with your cable internet provider. If they only allow their modems, you will not be able to use your own modem.
