Cucumber agua fresca is more refreshing than literally anything else on earth. The mana of life, the human hummingbird fuel, the good bright green stuff

Kombucha is pretty good.

That Russian сок birch sap drink. It's super hard to find in Canada but nothing hits me quite the same way.

[-] moonrivermama@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

Orange juice for me. Doesn't leave the weird, filmy texture in my mouth that any other flavored drink does.

Nothing beats cold water after doing something physically intensive.

Arnold Palmer with fresh homemade lemonade and homemade sun tea

[-] Athena5898@lemmy.ml 6 points 3 days ago

Depends. Hard labor on a hot day? Water.

Chilling in the shade? Lemonade.

When I need to fight brain fog? Coffee/Oolong

When I hate myself? Soda.

Agua de jamaica, or in English apparently Hibiscus drink. So frikkin refreshing but it makes you pee like there is no tomorrow

[-] dessalines@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 days ago

I have this going continually.

Fill a quart mason jar with 15g of hibiscus flowers, add water, put it in the fridge, and wait till morning or evening. Filter it out into a water bottle, and repeat by adding more flowers.

Then once the jar is full after a week or so, make jamaica tacos with them.

Ice-cold Vöslauer Superprickelnd was the best I've had. I've never seen it in the States, but most generic sparkling water from the supermarket will do.

I like the german one with super high magnesium

Austria has been scamming people with bottled water for at least 150 years now.

I just got my passion mango kombucha ready. Good god it was tasty. It's going in the repertoar.

[-] cheese_greater@lemmy.world -3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Mango is so sickeningly sweet doe. I feel pike it would overpower the tartness

[-] Defectus@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

It's a fruit tea I use. Just a teaspoon in the bottle. I usually let mine ferment so almost all the sugar is consumed

[-] whotookkarl@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 days ago

Some cold brew coffee

For refreshment, ice cold Coke Zero.

For enjoyment, Southern Comfort and orange juice. I discovered it by accident, and I don’t know if it even has a name, but I call it Nectar of the Gods.

[-] dmention7@midwest.social 2 points 3 days ago

The original Coke Zero was absolute perfection in a can. Sometime in the 2010s they rebranded to Coke Zero Sugar, which was sweeter and less "sharp" tasting than Coke Zero.

I feel like they have shifted back to the original a bit, but I'm not sure if it's gotten better, or if I've just gotten used to it. But yeah, that OG Coke Zero with the sweetness dialed back was super refreshing when ice cold.

I'm seemngly unable to distinguish redrsshment and enjoyment for some reason

[-] Nusm@peachpie.theatl.social 2 points 3 days ago

For me refreshment is when you’re hot and thirsty and need something to quench that. Enjoyment is when I can sit around with friends at home or out somewhere and sip a drink.
