The quote is poignant, but it is incorrectly attributed to Mussolini.

You are your own person. Do what you want.
Personally I disagree with their claim that Mussolini's usage contradicts the idea (beyond the fact that he was quite proud of the fascism label), nor do I find their claim being based on his printed works alone being particularly persuasive when he spent so much time giving speeches.
Regardless it's a decent enough summary of the effects of his more famous and definitely proven "everything within the state" lines.
That union is precisely what the fasces represented for them. "Corporatism" implies a state subservient to corporations, "fascism" implies a bond through ideology and goals. Moreover, the fasces tied Italy to its Roman past, which was deeply important to Italian fascists - they wanted to Make Italy Great Again, and in order for that to work, there has to be a historical myth to draw from. They had Rome, Germany had the Reich, MAGA has the 1950s, Spain... im actually not sure about their historical myth, im guessing conquistador colonialism?
Mussolini wasn't the super clever guy he thought he was. Go figure.
Continuing the analogy, modern russia has the Soviet Union.
The Soviets themselves, though, flipped the historical myth around and instead tied their ideology to the future of communism, which is surely just around the corner, just gotta work for the Party extra hard and not ask any questions, comrade!
I'm actually curious about similar movements in East Asia, now.
Nah, fascism is different. The OP’s image is describing what is called “inverted totalitarianism.”
Y'all use words like they mean a damn thing. Six one way Satyrn's rings the fucking next.

The more you argue about filling sophistratic poet shunz the more you forget to sort reality's logic for what's real without Psy henceing anyone knows a real technocratic thingamajiggic damn hone sense.
If you think I'm using words because I know what they mean then you forgot to live by learning.
Knowing anything is a mind, not a thing despite the babble I'm slandering. Not you unless you're okay with that. Then it's a knot thing.
This is just glorification of anti-intellectualism.
What absolutely nonsense dribble.
Stop smashing mirrors in fear or you end up a narcissist alone in a vaccum.
Absolute nonsense jibberish.
Some of it was. That's rather the point. I wasn't pointing at you or knowledge, though. Maybe don't see it as a fight to weaponize yourself with insults playable upon what you don't know how to read.
Then it ends up the other way around and like I said, it's not you unless you pick up a Machine Gun like Badflower. I know, Everyone's an Asshole.
I'm just not trying to not be. Shit is food to the rest of the world. Just cuz you don't eat shit doesn't mean there aren't any fungi around.

Live life by not insulting just to make up for your well earned self loathing.
Take your own advice, champ, and stop projecting.
You're accusing me of your misreading either in error or on purpose. Not that I care what a narcissistic idiot or sadist you mean to be.
But I'm projecting. Okay.
Wut ._.
I guess Chinese Corporatism Party works too.
Corporatism touches on fascistic elements from a top down framing. However my impression is that it over emphasizes the capitalist elements and neglect the role of the beatling (the state). It would be nice to see more exploration on this front.
From a bottom up framing, I think the following video explains the core of fascism really great. That fascism is about "the ideology of blood and soil", or that "we think with the blood of our nation". I really like this definition because it is clear and simple. However, we are still left without a term which encompasses both blood and soil. Having such a term, would make it much easier to confront fascist tendencies in our societies.
no one look at Obama's victory speech
I dunno, this sounds like normal politician rambling to me https://www.npr.org/2008/11/05/96624326/transcript-of-barack-obamas-victory-speech

No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.
