It's about how merely anti-fascist art and movements can be recuperated and made safe by capitalism. Blow it up ๐Ÿด๐Ÿด๐Ÿด๐Ÿด

Why the dislikes ? I was confused at first, but then read the description and it seemed to make sense to me. I have no time to watch the whole video, is there something i missed about it or the videomaker ?

Havent watched the video so take with a grain of salt, but my guess is liberals seething that their totally effective and rebellious peaceful means of "resistance" are once again being called out for what they are. Ineffective, neutered, and whitewashed acts of whining that basically amount to spicy parades.

I want to also emphasize I am not against peaceful protest, but I do have a problem with people delusionally thinking its the end all be all and that peaceful protests have to be civil. I feel like the only merit peaceful protests really have, particularly the undisruptive kind, is to get people active. Its a gateway and foot in the door to get people onto the streets. But after that, there needs to be some kind of escalation because the powerful dont listen until it starts being disruptive.

Nah I think some comrades thought that based on the title, Jessie is literally saying that anti-fascist activism is for fools. Which they are explicitly not saying lol, like they literally say that we need to fight fascists around the midpoint, but I suspect they picked that title to rope in liberals who do think that. This is about "leftist" media not actually telling stories about alternative ways of living. E.g., Star Wars has a relatively sympathetic portrayal of revolutionaries, but in the Disney movies, the rebels basically just fight for, and ultimately go back to l, the same liberal democracy that allowed fascism to develop, with predictable results in the Disney trilogy.

I'm guessing people think that Jessie is arguing against active anti-fascist actions (which they're wildly not).

To be absolutely crystal clear: Jessie does not oppose anti-fascism literally at all. Quite the opposite! But their point is that anti-fascism is not enough.
