Have you seen the recent trend of kids emptying out delivery trucks??

Blame the system and never the absent fathers! /s

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Absent fathers, in many ways, involves problems with the system.

This comment is kinda crazy misinformed ngl but I’m not gonna start an argument

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Stolen, or weighted boxes.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

more like scam attempt, "ill ship it to you when you pay."

or jump someone when they arrive with cash

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe Not stolen but probably bait to steal from you.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Description says brand new in box. The seal is broken, so it’s unverified. With a purchase like an iPhone, I would just go to the store and pay full price.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Just looked up the imei of that iPhone 15PM 256GB and find my iPhone is off

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yep. Or fakes. If you notice, the detachable tabs are gone, which means the box has been opened.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I seen one local, listed for $600. Reported it stolen as soon as I saw it and I haven’t seen it since

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Probably stolen or just a pic tjey got from somewhere and they don't have the actual phone.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

“brand new in box” without the pull tabs. 🤔

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Most likely

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Either stolen or fraudsters who set up carrier accounts, selling the devices they can get and not paying the bill which will cause the phone to become useless at some point

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The iPhones will work if u never pay monthly bills. They just stay locked carrier. Thats why there alot of locked att iphones on amazon. If u check their imei it will show u its locked and if u try to do unlock request through att website it will show u it can not be unlocked cuz money owed on iphone. Iphone will remain working under only to the carriers it owe money too. And their sister carriers like att also owns cricket so if u buy locked att iphone it will also work with cricket carrier. Same goes with tmobile. Verizon and such. Theres a way to get carrier locked iPhones unlocked through 3rd party or u can do it urself on laptop its called SimUnlock but if u ever restart or hard reset the iphone the sim unlock becomes locked again till program reinstalled. Which is annoying cuz everytime u update ios iphone requires restart.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nope, the phones get out on a non pay blacklist so they can’t be reactivated

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Ok if u say so. I do this for living. How else do u think carrier locked iphones exist? As long as its not reported lost or stolen. They will always work even if u made no payments on it. Ur soo wrong its not even worth arguing with u. How old are u. 10? Theres no such a thing called none pay blacklist lol. Where u come up with this 💩? None pay blacklist lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Could be fakes.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

If you have a UV light and this is an iPhone 15 series you can check the top right of the box for an invisible logo. There is another I forgot where.

Also if the seals are ripped and missing it’s opened and I wouldn’t buy it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

They may rob you knowing you got $800 cash to buy the phone

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Seal is ripped off smells like a scam.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I got my current iPhone 14 Pro a while ago on FB marketplace for a good deal off somebody who's side gig was repairing old phones. There are good deals out there, but FB marketplace is overrun with these scammers and sus listings.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No no no not stolen, “recovered”, after falling out the back of a truck. lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Always purchase from authentic store. The phone should be considered personal jewelry at this point, so don’t cheap out.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

hahah dumbass

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The fact people are willing to give people $800+ to complete strangers for an item you have no financial protection for in case you get scammed or robbed is wild to me. I’d just either buy new or used from an actual retailer.

Hell, even eBay has money back guarantees.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Stolen or financed for sure. Been buying and selling iphones since 2006 with iphones and rule 1. Never buy iphone with pictures in some car on someones lap and i hate to say this i usually dont buy from black kids. Specially the ones with profile pic of them giving the finger or acting like wanna be thug or them smoking blunts with in groups lol it is what it is. Alot of them sell ^ icloud locked iphones ^ which means they literally go around stealing ppls iphones and selling for parts and description always same : ** i forgot my icloud but u can connect itunes and u good to go ** with horrible spelling btw. As far as this iphone for 800$. Yes it is 100% bad buy

Thats a 1250$ iphone. I have the iphone 15 pro max too and for 800$ lol hell no. And hes showing u the IMEI number because it hasnt been reported stolen yet but check month later after purchasing. That will change.

I can’t comment on others but Costco here will have some really good deals for Cyber Monday / Black Friday.

Something dumb like $400 in Costco Gift Cards, they’ll usually give you another $150-250 in accessories.

Like this year as early Black Friday deal I took $300 in gift cards, $200 in accessories. I’m paying $20/month for 2 year for an iPhone 13 128GB black.

I turned around and sold the phone for $600. But I’m confident I could have easily gotten $700-800+.

In conclusion; I’ll pay $480 for the phone but I made out with $1100 in cash and accessories. I listed the accessories for $100 so at the end of the day I’ll have cleared $520 profit for 30min of effort.

I don’t actively seek these out but I shop at Costco a lot so I just check what they have from time to time.

That’s not to say other people aren’t scamming, they could be. I’d be more curious if there was a way to check if it was reported stolen or something

I just wanted a quick sell personally.

Costco has zero Black Friday / Cyber Monday phone deals this year. :(

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I mean. I just got email reminder here. $200 in Costco shop cards until November 27th. But I find the December offers to be better.

Idk if it’s location based.

DO NOT TRUST ANYONE ON MARKETPLACE LIKE SERIOUSLY JUST DON’T

Stop trusting or contacting people on Facebook Marketplace who’s profile has zero info (friend’s/ description/ info etc) and has joined Facebook from 2020-current year people with these kind of profiles are usually scammers and plus never buy iPhone or anything that brand new sealed from marketplace unless you open it in front them before paying and checking the product you are about to get also a key info never ever do PayPal/ bank transfer methods on Facebook as 100% reliability maybe use these methods if you’re really desperate

(PLUS THERE HAS BEEN FEW INCIDENTS WHERE PEOPLE SELLING STUFF ON FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE TELLS/ ASK CUSTOMERS TO COME TO A PLACE OF THEIR GIVEN FOR COLLECTION AND EITHER ROB THEM OR WORST CASE SCENARIO STAB SOMEONE FOR A FEW BRITISH POUNDS OR DOLLARS DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE)

hopefully my comment eventually gets picked on and people starts taking protocols before buying stuff from marketplace

PLEASE BE CAREFUL FROM THESE KIND OF FRAUDS AND SCAMMERS

I mean I'm usually extremely careful. The only time I got 'finessed' was on letgo. I avoid people who have egoic hoodlum usernames, sell too cheap, etc. I almost sold my iPhone XS once using PayPal, but luckily I got it back (never again with trusting PayPal as a viable alternative to Facebook's secure payment system). Ive bought an iPhone 6s plus, a 1st Gen iPhone SE, a Samsung Galaxy tab A7 lite, an Apple watch Series 3, a dell latitude 7480, and I've flipped phones on marketplace and they have all worked/work great.
