Prostate cancer is really easy to treat and delay, unfortunately. I have a family member dealing with it right now, very late stage, and its still extremely treatable.
It varies widely depending on the tumor type and other factors. But yeah, one common variant is slow-growing.
They removed the wrong side of the tumor.

prostate is pretty treatable early stages, especially if you get regular blood test to detect markers for the cancer, at his age he likely is. something like pacreatic unlikely, since it almost always advanced when symptoms show up. prostate is slow enough that most people pass away before the cancer kills them, or is diagnosed with it. aggressive ones are like pancreatic, colon if mestasize, leukemias.
Leukemias are also in many cases not only treatable but curable, but in other cases, it'll kill you fast.
