I shall throw the thing away, I did suspect that those things are garbage... I tried anyways since I didn't have any other ideas at that point. And could you expand on the reason on why I need a router? Should the apartment complex not have a router already somewhere? Everything else works... The notebook, the PS4.. just not this new PC.

What is the link status for your ethernet connection on the PC when you connect it to the switch, vs. directly to the wall socket?
What IP address does ipconfig report when connected to the wall vs. the switch?
What's on the other end of the wall socket? An ISP router/modem?
Where’s the router at? Sounds like there’s not a router involved anywhere.
