Um ... what the hell point is even being made here?
In a lot of those panels, the reasons for not jumping are extremely real and valid.
"What was I waiting for?" Sufficient water in the pool, and for the crowds, crocodiles, and freak weather incidents to go away. That's what you were waiting for.
I think it's pointing out that people will ask still themselves, "What was I waiting for?" even when there were valid reasons to wait. It reminds me of internalization or self-blame.
I was thinking the same thing. If you view each panel as his perception of the pool rather than objective reality, then at least it has a cohesive narrative... But then the overarching message seems to become "ignore your perception and do the thing" which feels odd for a mental health community.

Yeah I'm not picking up what Mr. Snider is putting down here.
As someone who failed mental health treatment, I interpret it as “it’s okay to hesitate if things clearly aren’t ready.” I had pressure of various sorts to “be okay,” and fix some issues, but jumping early… didn’t work at all.
I don't understand the point here, most of these reasons for hesitation seem eminently practical and sane.
Is the moral "if you hesitate, you'll have to wait a long time before you get another opportunity?"
I see it as "don't harp on why you didn't take the plunge earlier, the previous you had their reasons"
If that's the message, it feels poorly communicated.
Yeah, they probably wanted to communicate that all the hesitation was valid, but they could illustrate the last panel being naive more clearly
