Still not black tho
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
Looks grey to me, was a little disappointed seeing it in person. I have a black dbrand skin over my m2 midnight air and it looks really nice
3 shades of grey.
Space Black is a good thing, even though I don’t like it. Basically, people don’t have to choose between 2 shades of gray.
Now you can choose between 3 shades of gray! Joking aside, as an owner of a Space Black, it's just a darker version of the Space Grey color. It looks fantastic in dark environments, but in super bright light looks very close to the Space Grey. Either way, an upgrade in colors for sure.
that black looks ugly
How about a whole 50 shades of grey
yeah, we need apple to release m4 macbooks in 50 shades of grey
I was looking for this comment lolol
I mean… it’s still 2 shades of grey to choose between, just one is darker
Now it’s three shades of gray lmao
Idk why everyone keeps saying this…
Looks like my silver one
The Space Black color makes the Space Grey look closer to Silver than to Space Black
I feel like people especially YouTubers say there isn’t a difference. It’s more of this is what space grey shoulda been, imo
Nobody said there wasn't.
What a waste of money to upgrade for such minimal changes.
But Space Black is darker than Space Gray and the screen is 100nits brighter even though the M1 and M2 can be bumped up to 1000 with a simple app!
Just get your gray one dirty. We have space black at home
That looks brown
Just the lighting lol I’m sure it looks nothing like brown normally. Seems like a dark graphite color.
just the lighting in the picture
Space black makes the space grey one look like silver
Apple must be color blind to call that space black. To each his own I guess.
Thanks. I very much appreciate these different perspectives over YouTubers who just want more views and clicks.
Beauty and the Beast
I was planning on getting silver if they didn’t announce a black option with M3. I like the retro and modern look of silver, with it being iconic Apple, but for a 16 inch I think the space black look makes it all look better and more cohesive. Just better for my workflow vibe tbh. I hate space grey on the M-series which is why I would either do black or silver.
Can space black sometimes look brown in real life too? I know it can seem lighter or darker depending on the light but with, say, direct sunlight, does it ever seem brown like in this photo?
Do you happen to have a Space Black iPhone 14 Pro? Or have you seen a comparison anywhere? I've read and watched so much concerning the new color, but not a single person has mentioned that 14 months ago they released a Pro phone with the same color name. I'd love to know what they look like next to each other.
Color adds another 2ghz to the cpu.
I prefer the silver one.
After the M3 release, I was like it’s finally my time to purchase the M1
Having seen it in person, definitely looks very cool
What’s the point of having an M1 & M3?
muh M1 resale value
Silver vs Space Grey is what I see... and putting a silver next to it makes it white now.
So many people are looking into the pockets of somebody else. Everyone should spend their money as they want.
And people with M1 pro MacBook can be happy, that even in the third year there are not very huge reasons to upgrade to. Amazing, isn't it?
It's not amazing. A computer should easily last 5-6 years, especially at this level. My 2010 iMac still does the same things it did back in 2011 when I bought it. I still earn a living with it doing the same things. My case is a stretch but why fix something that's not broken?
When apple bring all of their products on black, the people will be nuts… (Airpods, airtags, mac, accessories like cable, charge station and all)…
How about a difference in performance..?
Vibes measurement only
Vibes are there
Space Grey and Space Really Grey.
Out of curiosity, does the black show more fingerprints and smudges?
Literally no one is thinking there's no difference
I prefer my midnight .. yes it doesn't have the new coating but the colour is more appealing to me.
They really missed the chance of giving a matte pitch black color, instead it’s just dark gray
No one's surprised that Space Black is very dark. I don't really like it, Space Gray is the right shade but whatever, it's just a color, though I wish I could buy a Pro in Starlight.
Why does it look like brown😭
Honestly this isn’t a selling point for me. I wish Apple gave the Pro crowd more color options
