Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP) planned 1.5GW green hydrogen project in Western Australia has joined a federal government programme aimed at fast-tracking the development through approvals and regulations.

The Danish energy investor said the project joined the Treasury’s Front Door programme, to help it navigate regulatory requirements, connect it with government agencies, regulators, and identify “suitable government finance opportunities.”

The Murchison green hydrogen project plans to produce 900,000 tonnes of green hydrogen-based ammonia in the first stage, before potentially expanding to two million tonnes per year for export.
