I'm very satisfied how easy it has been to not consume any of that transphobes garbage.

I read the books, even looked forward to the last two releases,, and taken just a bit of pride every time I see the new stuff pitched at me, because I'm their market and I'm not buying anything that supports hate for those I love.

    I thought I replied but I don't see it... Hope this isn't a double.

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik is a fantastic series that very much scratches this itch. In my opinion it's a better series in every way, but I like hard magic systems and think soft magic systems must be earned and I don't think Homophobic Potter earns it.

Yep, the only ethical thing is to ignore, unsubscribe, and tell HBO why! Make it unprofitable for them, cause hosts of media to not platform the works associated with transphobes. Make those bigots sweat! A further step, if you read and reviewed the books in the past. Change your review, call out JK Rowlings and tell her the seething bigotry she nurses is nasty. Tell her to move the fuck on from it and stop punching down at trans women and men!

Some stories are worth retelling. The Odyssey and The Seven Samurai come to mind.

This one is not that good.

The left has long lost any authority over defining the ethics and morals of society, as far as I'm concerned.

So that just leaves you as the sole arbiter of ethics? Congrats on the self-promotion!

Ok, but I fail to see the reasoning behind your comment then.

Agree or not whether there's an ethical way to consume HP, you believe your opinion on the matter is not morally or ethically authoritative.

I don't think anyone would have suggested otherwise... There isn't a comment here saying "but what does minorkeys think".

Ok. You believe your opinion isn't ethically or morally authoritive, but it could still have merit.

I'm guessing the people that you consider to be the "left" are who people on the left consider to be the "right". This isn't a left/right ideological issue. People should be allowed opinions and we should each be allowed to agree or disagree, in whole or in part, with the opinions of others. Through those opinions, agreements, and disagreements we should each form our own morals.

We lose our ethics and our society when we stop listening to each other's opinions and morals and instead dismiss each other because they are not from "our side".

Guess we're losing our society then because the left and right definitely refuse to listen to each other.

No, one side has been trying to explain 1+1 equals 2. The other keeps shouting about the DOW being at 50.000 and aliens are demons.

They are not equal. Like.. At all.

The left doesn't listen, it dictates.

Because you do not want to hear, does not mean the left is wrong.

And yes in that case, telling you the facts sounds like dictation.

Because the left claims something is a fact, does not make it a fact.

Ah! but that's the fun part: Facts don't care about your politics... That's why they are facts. But you are correct if you feel facts seem to always side with the left..

They are facts because they don't care? That makes just as much sense as them not caring about feelings. Facts don't have cares.

What is not to understand? Facts don't care about all kinds of things, you or my politics, our feelings, etc, etc. They have always existed just waiting until we understood them.

And again, the left tends to base their politics on them. Which is why it seems to rightwingers that facts always seem to "lean to the left" (It's part of why they never seem to like experts, they also always "lean left"). But it's just because progressive politics tend to base their reasoning on logics, facts and therefore: truth.

Basing your world view, morals and laws on a religion or your feelings (Maga) usually leads to nonsensical outcomes. Just like we are seeing now in the US, Israel, Iran, etc...

Are you actually arguing the left doesn't feel their way to their beleifs? You have an odd perception of how the left politics.
