For me, the league cup is not important. I really hope Arteta goes back to the Wenger strategy of using the League Cup to give debuts to youngsters. Taking 4 cup competitions seriously just makes the squad exhausted.

Oh no! Anyway

I honestly didn't really care if we won it, I just hate how we lost it

It didn't really bother me too much. It was a bad performance. But, it hinged on Kepa playing like a backup GK, O'Reilly having 5 minutes of genius, and Arsenal not having either Eze or Odegaard to link the back to the front.

Man, I really wanted that. A lot of the discourse post match has been about the arsenal performance but city were imperious. They looked umbeatable in the second half.

Not good enough. We were really poor in way too many positions on the pitch and we didn't have anyone to lead the attack. Both Saka and Hincapie should've been yanked at half time. Oh well, the wait for a trophy continues. What doesn't crown us, only makes us stronger.

In the first 15 minutes when Arsenal looked dangerous, a lot of it was route 1 play up to Gyokeres or Havertz. That stopped working, and without a #10 Arsenal was really unable to keep the ball in advanced areas. I really hope Odegaard is back after the break.

I was gonna say, we missed Eze in this match

Eze or Odegaard. Someone to link the midfield and forwards.

Is it crazy to suggest we should try Nørgaard as the third midfielder

also Merino could've also done the job but yknow it's Arsenal when aren't players injured

I think Norgaard has been underused. But, I think what Arsenal was missing today was someone with some creativity who can link the defenders to the attackers. Norgaard isn't that guy. But, maybe he could have freed up one of the other two to take more chances.

Maybe if Norgaard had been used more earlier in the season, Zubimendi and Rice wouldn't be as exhausted, and they'd have more creativity. It seems to me like they're running on fumes. 3 midfielders out, 2 of them being our key creative players and we're in for a bad time.

I think some of it was creativity, some of it was control. Fat lot of good the creativity would do if we didn't have the ball, which is what happened the second half.

Fair enough, but to a certain extent creativity is control.

For example, Arsenal spent a lot of time trying to pass out from the back at various times, but it wasn't working. Someone like Eze or Odegaard would have helped a lot with that. It's not the attacking part of creativity, trying to find that final pass. But, it's still trying to unlock the puzzle of beating their press. Also, there were a lot of times where the ball was just dumped forward in the 2nd half, and there was nobody to hold onto it. Gyokeres is pretty bad at hold up play, but if he could have won the ball and given it to someone like Eze or Odegaard I think it would have given time for the rest of the team to get forward and then Arsenal could have tried to attack.
