I would've ignored this post, but some people were wondering if Nintendo will keep the Nintendo account going forward, I think this suggests that they will.

From the latest financial update:

there are now "over" 330 million Nintendo accounts worldwide.

"Prior to the introduction of Nintendo Account, it was not easy to maintain users’ information across platform generations, including details such as their software purchases and gameplay records.

"The introduction of Nintendo Account made it possible to tie a user’s history to their personal account. This will be a foundation upon which Nintendo can maintain a lasting relationship with consumers."

i mean, tieing purchases on the console like the Wii and DSi was a bad idea from the start.

Just keep the VirtualConsole options through Nintendo Online for the next console and you instantly have people happy enough to buy it.

If the next console is backwards compatible it will be a day one purchase from me. All I want is a Super Switch.
