Today's a big day! Getting my Ural Wolf back from the repair shop, it's in good running order now so I can sell it with a clear conscience. I had to grind a LOT of overtime to get the cash together to fix this thing, and even though finding a buyer might take a while cuz this is a niche appeal vehicle once I do this money is gonna be like drain cleaner on my finances.

That said I'm sad to see it go. It's been a great machine, taught me how much I love motorcycles, I love the sound and the smell and the feel of riding it a lot. It's got the most comfy seat and riding position of any motorcycle I've sat on too, which aint nothin.

BUT it was the wrong motorcycle for me. I learned from doing all of the maintenance myself for the two years I was riding it every day that I really, really hate doing motorcycle maintenance. The bike I got to replace it is completely turnkey, which is such a massive quality of life upgrade over constantly worrying about every little sound the bike makes while I'm riding it and wondering what I'm gonna have to fix next.

Birch beer is better than root beer and it sucks that I can't find it in stores here.

I think Dune (1984) is best viewed as a standalone piece, ultimately detached from the original series. If you know nothing else about Dune, then it makes David Lynch's vision even better. Despite the industry's attemps to take this movie from him, you can still feel his overwhelming influence snd subsequent dreaminess.

Rimworld colony has finally reached "Who are you again?" size. Armory full of guns and ammo, broad fields of weed and coke growing on the outskirts to be packed up into a blimp and traded for steel and other goods. When it gets this big I like to build a cybernetics campus with a science library and surgical ward. This one is a glass-walled modern lab on a beach where the researchers can look out onto a massive lake. The next late game luxuries will be an airport, sauna, hotel, coffee shop and art gallery. I'll know I've made it when my soldiers have actual uniforms.

I've always valued dedicated cybernetics centers ever since one game, when I recruited a mad max-style wasteland raider who had been Johnny Got His Gun'd by friendly flamethrower fire and left for dead in the retreat. No limbs, eyes, ears, jaw or tongue. After weathering a dozen agonizing infections, I slowly turned him into Adam Jensen over the course of several in-game months. Then I gave him a dinosaur hide trench coat and a pair of machine pistols, and the rest is history.
