Good choice for a mod
welc
I'm new to this so I can't speak for anyone else but me.
On a personal level, I always thought (maybe I'm jsut old) mods were supposed to participate and be part of the community for stuff. It's a lot harder to make judgment calls and act in the best interest of a group you're not part of.
Grats!
I agree, as somebody being mod but not an active part of the community would be like governing "from over our heads".
Still, I wanted to make my announcement this way so that nobody thinks "I don't agree with but they are a mod so it must be alright".
I see. Well, I def appreciate that and giving others space.
The current sidebar has virtually no rules, and the only other mod of the community basically hasn't been around for two years. It's safe to say this place needed a new moderator, and an active poster is certainly a good choice. Thanks for deciding to pick up the mantle!
Now that I've looked over the situation, I'd consider maybe codifying some simple rules, and including them in the sidebar and a pinned post. Currently the only thing the Furry sidebar says is "we're vaguely pro AI posting," which I don't think is the best position for a general art community, nor one I've ever seen community members be interested in using.
A good point. But when I asked the (former) only mod of this comm my arguments for me becoming mod was to remove possible spam and pin post for longer-term participation. So I don't want to immediately go over my requested scope.
I will see what other comments come up here. If more are similar to your idea, I will create a post asking for a community vote on new rules (yaay, democracy).

- AI-generated content should be clearly marked in the title of the post, though it is generally discouraged unless it is in some way unique. If it becomes excessive still and drowns out artists or otherwise becomes an issue this may be further restricted.
