After reading the article, I'm not really convinced this is much of a smoking gun analysis for intelligent men being more left.

Sounds like someone couldn’t even read halfway through the article before forming an opinion. Probably safe to say you didn’t read the study…

The current study focuses on these same individuals roughly 35 years after they were first identified. The participants were now adults with an average age of about 43. The researchers sent them surveys to assess their political orientations.

So this headline is really wrong then. As IQ is measured relative to age, it's a lot easier to be slightly ahead of your peers as a kid, than it is as an adult.

Yeah. I read it. I also read that it's all from germany, so anything that happened in just that country could have shaped the outcome that the study couldn't account for, and also that only about 150 people total responded back to filling out the questionnaire and returning it.

That it was a voluntary mailed out follow up sent out to thousands of people and only 150 responded back is a huge variable that goes into the question of "what type of people would respond back?"

Very interesting, Thanks

Not surprising. This shows the significance of IQ in a meaningful way, which ironically is a conservative viewpoint. At least in some applications.
