I'm pretty disappointed to hear that. IMO the career mode was the reason EVO seemed like an interesting title. Without it, I struggle to see why someone who prefers solo/offline play would buy it over the original AC.
I very badly want a good PC racing sim with a career progression mode and don't particularly mind if it's economy based. Of course it should have no effect on the cars/tracks available in any other modes. I'm interested to see what Kunos replaces it with but I'm not holding my breath.
Please don't take the AMS2 path of 6 years with a greyed out career mode button on the main menu.
I don't know exactly what AC EVO was planning, but it seems like racing games don't try to make fun career modes anymore.
The initial plan was for an open-world with progression tied to an actual in-game economy. Then they made most of the progression systems optional (a good thing), but now that's gone and there's no details on what the point of the open-world will be if there's no profession. We also have no real indication of whether or not this open world will even actually happen.
