This coun­try stands at a frag­ile cross­roads. Af­ter years marked by vi­o­lence, fear and deep­en­ing mis­trust, cit­i­zens are yearn­ing for some­thing more en­dur­ing than emer­gency pow­ers and po­lit­i­cal games­man­ship. They are yearn­ing for a last­ing peace root­ed in uni­ty, jus­tice and re­spon­si­bil­i­ty.
