You can be! Just have an appropriate outfit with baggy pockets, and get really good at figuring out camera angles. What i do is go buy stuff, but i'll take like 1 overpriced thing and pocket it when rounding a corner
I find most stores aside from fucking Target don't have cameras down every aisle. Like the pet food aisle is usually clear.
Bring too many reusable bags and stick what you don't want to pay for underneath them, even if you did get caught you still have plausible deniability that you forgot they were there.
