I don’t get it. They’re using water to cool data centers, right? But they’re surely not evaporating it? Water cooling systems use water in a closed loop that carries heat from the hot stuff to heat exchangers where the heat is given off to air. Or at worst, water is sucked in from a body of water cold, heated up, and released to the body of water again.

So where does the water go?
