Oh gosh, I love this poster.

Bah, only a few more to work on over here, then I should be 'golden' to release the whole collection. If you missed the intro post, it's here.

EDIT2: That link above may or -may not- go directly to the post. If it doesn't, use the one in comments.

Haha, meanwhile, I'm thinking Wallace (from "W&G") would say something like: "what hey, lad, and here's some extra cheeese..!!"

(eh, don't mind me, it's been kinda looney-tunes around here, lately)

Funny that I'm seeing this on the very day that I got my 1979 "Heavy Metal presents: Alien, The Illustrated Story" mag by Archie Goodwin and Walter Simonson! Thanks for posting. I wasn't aware of this Polish art.

In terms of Europe, most of the really interesting versions online are from Poland.

I'm guessing that in Western Europe, the original American posters worked pretty well, so weren't changed so much. But (perhaps) the further East one went, with more Slavic and other cultural values being in play, the more a real need there was to redesign the posters for such audiences.

Oh, shoot. It does look as if sharing the link to anyone outside of PieFed requires a login.

Dammit, that's not good. I've been sharing some links to people on different platforms, and assumed they were able to see the posts. Now that seems completely in doubt...

yeah, going to the piefed comm , then clicking orgy works.

OK, I think I get it. You marked the Boogie nights post as NSFW. I think you must log in to view NSFW posts. I can see the other posts fine, but nothing around the 15 days mark where the boogie nights one should be

I think you must log in to view NSFW posts.

Excellent, thank you!
I still have no idea what the "orgy" connotation is, but that's a major relief about our posts being visible to non-Fediversers...

The title looks like Orgy, but I guess it's meant to say orcy?

Ah, gotcha! Yeah, the letters are obscured, but it's "OBCY," Polish for "Aliens."

Btw, I'm working on the last one of these posters, then will be formatting them, then posting the whole 20 image collection, soon.

And now the problem seems fixed! (at least from my testing)

Guess something changed on the PF server end, since then.

[-] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

still getting same for me 🤷

Rats.
Okay, what if you go to the overall EGN page and click on any individual threads you see. Do any of those force you to do the logon thing?
