3rd option: ignore whats being said, and just try to remember what you wanna say
The only person who I consistently kinda force to listen to my rants that go for at least 30 mins at a time is my wife. When I'm talking to other people, usually my point and what they're talking about are part of the same conversation so it's not that hard to remember it.
