since it's cheaper to buy an interrail ticket for a few days than the usual hotel+travel to a furcon and sleeper trains have showers... and i wanna travel, i wanna meet furries, i figured the two together makes sense.

a traveling furry convention on a night train.

i mean i love trains. do you?

  1. walk across a city by day & afternoon. meet furries from the area that wanna show up

  2. travel by furry cuddle pile in a night train to the the next city

  3. repeat

That is definitely a interesting idea. I will bookmark this thread and see what emerges.

But I don't know if there will be practicability problems (for example if you need to pass through Germany and their shitty railway system).

I mean it is not the best, but I don't think it would be a major problem. Just bring a bit more time in countries where one expects delays.

info here: all night trains i've seen start in the evening and emerge in the morning

so for example

  1. departure on a monday 17:28
  2. arrival on a tuesday 10:28
  3. departure on the same tuesday 20:11
  4. arrival on a wednesday 07:00
  5. departure on the same wednesday 20:05
  6. arrival on a thursday 10:05

just for an example on timing

Such a cool idea omg. I wish there were a way to make it happen. I've always played with the idea of going interrailing but I'm not that into sightseeing or other "touristy" activities so I worry I'd find it boring soon after start. Meeting local furs at every major stop would be such a fun way to do it. I think there should be some overnight stops along the route though, more than two consecutive night trains sounds way too punishing for me lol.

Also, to my knowledge night trains often require seat reservations even for interrail pass holders. I dunno how expensive those are these days

ikr! knew more would be excited for it hihi ^u^

these days there are "interail plus passes" which include seat reservations! https://plus.interrail.eu/en/interrail-plus-pass

and i hear you on the suggestion of a hostel stay after two nights of sleeping on a train :3 good thing to poll all interested on

Depending on how many say they would like to we might also start with a approximation of a plan.

If only a few will take part, then I think we should gather in one city and then travel together, else the group of Furries seeing each other will be almost non-existent.

diagram! i am irrationally happy now.

yes, choosing a starting city will be beneficial ^^ unless it turns out 100 furs wanna line-dance on the rails in an ad-hoc fashion >w< /joke

here's an initial poll over some cities, do share the link to anyfur (half)interested
