I mean, it's a reputation award, and Man City just won the treble. Not really a surprise tbh. Fingers crossed that'll be us next season tho :P
@Astrealix agreed but they’ve also bought 3 of those 5 over the last two years (haaland, alverez, gvardiol) - i think.
@Astrealix actually when you look at the list 8 of the 30 played or currently plays for city 🤯. And 3 of the top 5 currently play for city.
So according to the voters of the Ballon d'Or, Saka is worse than Onana. Funny that.

That said, it'll be kinda dumb this year if Messi didn't get it, won the World Cup and transformed an entire league basically. Don't know if Erling Robo can ever achieve that in his career.
