What's the difference between using chezmoi vs a regular git repo? I'm trying to figure out how these dotfile managers work

I would recommend checking out chezmoi.io

Alright, thank you.

Another WM? What differentiates swayfx from hyprland? Also why do you call it compositor, when it actually seems to be a sway fork?

Also why do you call it compositor, when it actually seems to be a sway fork?

because it is called a compositor, just like sway, hyprland or any other wayland compositor. although they're so often called window managers most people consider it correct too, just know that compositor is more specific to wayland.

Another WM? What differentiates swayfx from hyprland?

swayfx is a sway fork unrelated to hyprland, since i already had a sway config and wanted some eyecandy, i decided to switch to swayfx which was easier than switching to hyprland

Love to see Void here!

Is that sway's built-in bar? Looks great.

it's not, that'd be swaybar, the one i'm using is Waybar

Guess I shoulda known swaybar wouldn't look like that! Waybar is just so versatile; every config I've seen looks completely different from the last. That's the power of CSS I suppose!

I like how you didn't use a plugin manager for your zsh config. I'll have to look into adding the git repo to my prompt

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I do use a plugin manager, it's antidote.

I used to use oh-my-zsh for the git prompt, but I replaced it with lighter tools since I heard omz can be slow.

Oh, I must have missed that! But I do agree that omz is a little bloated. I'll have to look into antidote, tho
