It sheds green sparkles every time I touch it. Mica mines operate near here, which makes me think this is a chunk. Very shiny.

Maybe Chrysotile? Just don't inhale that stuff that flakes off.

I don't think so. The rock is dark green, it only looks white because it's very shiny. It's fairly brittle and sands off into dust rather than flakes and fibres.
