Wow, very surprising! I'll miss watching him and his brother competing against one another, that was always a fun little thing to keep an eye on in Grand Tours.

Still, it's very sudden. Maybe he didn't want to be a domestique in the giro as the defending champ, maybe he had a dodgy test internally and was asked to stop...

Or maybe he's just not feeling it anymore?

Yeah, an internal test. I mean, I like him as a rider and I don't think his results have been particularly suspect, but this type of sudden retirement after having been at the forefront of all marketing material for the year seems off...
