I noticed a new Linux distribution which seemed interesting to me for a couple of reasons:

  • os-tools aka package management etc written in Rust
  • originated in Ireland
  • claims atomicity
  • /etc handling inspired by Clear Linux
  • ok privacy policy
  • community chat in Zulip instead of Discord

Still a bit fresh, I haven't dared to try it on my main machine yet.

I just have to say nice to see people not using discord and I hope that becomes a thing

I’ve tried to get into discord a few times to access various communities, I never stick with it though. I always find it too loud.

They provide the GNOME or COSMIC desktop, if that is of relevance to some.

The website is a little light on information, but it looks promising!

Yes finally, a new Linux distribution. It was about time.

I seen this, wanted to run it as a VM but the setup failed. Haven’t gotten back to it yet.

Yeah, it's a bit difficult to install. I noticed that the installation disk seems to expect UEFI, and most VM things tend to default to BIOS.

I didn't get my VM to reach the internet, but that's probably a host configuration issue. This is the first distro I'm trying to install with virt-manager.
