Just finished spider-man 2 and got the rest of the trophies ! Such a fun game all the way through and wasn't too difficult to beat on hard

Wow! Congrats!
How long did it take to get the Platinum?
I got it in 26ish hours on my playthrough, and that wasn't at any great rush.
I got the platinum on the 26th and there was 7% of players with it at that time. It's interesting to note that between then and now, an extra 3% of players have gotten the platinum (according to the PS App).
I do appreciate that Insomniac have platinums in their last few games that are very achievable - no arbitrary or onerous trophies. You can play, have fun, and usually be most of the way to the platinum with minimal fuss.
Beat Death's Door. I thought it was a simple solid game but after discovering and solving more and more secrets after the final boss, I have to give it a higher rating. They're aren't too easy, not too cryptic, and satisfying to solve. It's fantastic.
Interesting. It's on my backlog, will give it a try soon.
Arkham Knights because it is included on PS Extra. I immediately hated the damage sponge enemies and switch difficulty to very easy. Not every game needs to have RPG elements.
I love RPG, its my favourite genre, and I 100% agree with you.
Currently playing Lords of the fallen. I have good time playing but the multiplayer is so bad. And after that, probable Signalis
How would you compare it with other soulslike games, if you have played any?
Compared to Elden Ring :
- the combat is faster. The game expects you to attack and not to wait for the opportunity. For example, when an enemy attacks you and you defend with your shield. You loose temporary hit points that you recover only by attacking. If you get hit, you loose all these temporary hit points. It will depend on what gameplay you like.
- I struggle much more on Elden Ring for the reason above. So for me, Elden Ring is more difficult.
- it's very linear for the moment like the old souls (20 hours of game time). It's not an open world. But the game design of the old souls is better.
- The customization of your character is very much like the souls. No winner here.
- The overall ambiance of the game is amazing.
- The two worlds feature is not really interesting. The mechanic faded pretty quickly for me. It's now more annoying than the wow effect at the beginning of the game
I think it's a good game. There are definitely some flaws but I'm enjoying the experience.
Interesting. Thanks for the detailed comparison. Will pick it up sometime.
Currently pausing BG3 to continue Hogwarts Legacy and enjoy some The Last of Us Part I sessions inbetween.
The Finals beta. It's really fun, especially when nobody really knows what they're doing.
I just got invited to the beta on steam. I thought it was an open beta anyway, but maybe I was wrong. I really want to check it out but I won't have too much time this weekend unfortunately
BG3 Act III, SpiderMan 2 and Master Detective Archives RainCode.
Alan Wake 2, RE Village dlc
Still have harry Potter waitin on me like homework. Metroid remake and TOTK on the back burner as well.
Stoked about aw2 and the RE dlc!
I just started Nioh, after finishing Demon's Souls.
I feel Nioh is much more difficult than Demon's Souls. I am still in the starting area, and just reached the first boss after dieing dozens of times.
My original goal was to go back to Dragon Quest XI after Demon's Souls, but I was itching for more action / souls-like games, and Nioh has been on my backlog for a very long time.
Alan wake 2, it's so. Good. If you're into world building, it's one of those games that benefits massively from knowing the universe. There's things in this from 20 years ago.
Did you play the first one? I never did. If so do you recommend I play the first 1 first?
Play the first alan wake for sure. If you want the whole experience then also Play Control, if you want the godlike experience go and find a copy of Max Payne and Play that too
I've played all the Max Paynes (super stoked for the remake also). I have Alan Wake Remastered from PS+ and I also haven't started Control yet but I have that too.
Should I play AW before Control?
There's alan wake dlc for control, so yeah probably
Oh, Interesting. I wasn't aware. Thanks!
You can play Control without playing Alan Wake, but the DLC might make more sense if you have played Alan Wake before.
I played it without playing AW, and still enjoyed it, though playing that made me interesting in Alan Wake, before that I wasn't interested in playing it, as I am not a big fan of survivor horror games.
me neither but with AW2 getting all this good press, I think I might have to plat AW Remastered before control, then alan wake 2.
But that's all after Ragnarok, Spiderman 2, and Sea of Stars. Did I also mention I picked up Returnal recently? ugh, too much fun to be had
Heh, too many game. 😀
How are the graphics? I’d like to get it but I’m a bit worried about the reports that it renders at like 320p and upscales it using FSR2 with lots of artifacts.
I dont know what resolution it's running at. It looks absolutely fine. If you care about art and visual style, then it's full of it
If pixel counting is in your head, it might not be right for you. I guess just try to enjoy things instead of being worried about that stuff?
I game on a 77” OLED so if it’s a low resolution it just looks terrible.
I also have a big oled! I even play tg16 games on it. Crazy huh. It's almost like the art is important, not the specs.
I don’t even play PS4 games anymore after getting a PS5.
Cool, I would hate to limit myself for dumb reasons, but you do you.
It’s not really limiting. I don’t have much time for video games (adulting) so I can be selective in what games I play (only the best in graphics, gameplay, etc.) and still fill all my available gaming time.
No one has infinite time, and everyone picks and chooses their games. You are not unique.
It's just dumb to have this mindset that if digital foundry says something, then I can't play it! Art does not matter, just pixels and technology.
It's just dumb to have this mindset that if digital foundry says something, then I can't play it!
It’s not just what they are saying, they back it up with screen recordings. You can see how soft the image is and the how much shimmering there is due to the FSR2 upscaling.
I’ll just park this one until PS5 Pro releases and then see if it can run with a decent graphical quality.
No one normal cares about anything like that. Only people who go to digital foundry and the like to be told what is acceptable or not do. There are no problems with this game. It's all in your head. It's fairly disheartening to see people choose technical quantifications over art.
The shimmering is extremely distracting. The human visual system is very sensitive to motion. This isn’t just a problem for people who care about visual quality. The game is basically unplayable as it is.
Lol, no, it isn't. Your brain is rotted if you think that. You may just be too far gone to enjoy things. A shame for you! More enjoyment for normal people
It legitimately made me laugh when I read you say, "The game is unplayble"
Stop making excuses for developers half-assing their games and using upscaling as a crutch.
Ohhh noooo, they made something amazing, but there's three pixels off, so it's unplayable trash
I can not imagine living like you do. I'm sorry, it's so weird.
It’s not just the shimmering, it’s blurry as fuck.
this is where the brain rot sets in, or you have an undiagnosed visual problem, that could be it.
it isn't. no normal person would look at that game and say "it's blurry as fuck" no one - aside from you and other people who suffer from this digital foundry induced brainrot.
I don't even know if digital foundry did a thing on this game, i just assumed they did because all you guys are exactly the same. you are not acting like a normal person, you're acting like a weirdo.
What is normal? I know plenty of 'normal' people who think LCD televisions are perfectly acceptable. Does that sound normal to you?
