Can't you just post it?
I would just eat 3-15kg while I’m in Hungary. That’s the easiest way to get around the import issue, nobody will bat an eye if you bring back 5kg extra weight after Christmas.
I don't see how that would get around the issue of properly identifying the meat. Any kind of import, regardless of its form, is subject to these bans.
...the idea of posting it was to circumnavigate the need to declare it
It would still need to be declared.
Oh for fucks sake, does everything have to be explained to the max on here?
If OP is wanting to post meat back without the hassle of customs then why on earth would they declare it?
The idea is that OP posts it to the UK without telling anyone the true contents of the parcel so they can enjoy lovely meat when they return...
Or enjoy a nice hefty fine for badly declared goods when it goes through a scanner and the "clothes and stuff" gets flagged for being meat products.
Oh and also get the meat confiscated and destroyed.
Brilliant plan, genius.
People have been posting stuff for years, how do you think the physical side of the entire dark net marketplaces operate?
Plus it's Christmas time, there's a massive influx of post pretty much worldwide - do you think they've got time to scan every single packet that's dispatched?
But yeah, wait for a response of gov.uk
You write “Traditional Hungarian Christmas treats” - no lies.

General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
