Crazy idea, maybe the US isn't ready for another liberal to talk down to us and do absolutely nothing. Maybe its time for real change from a real progressive.

She's not wrong though. Put AOC on the ballot and there will still be a lot of people not voting for the women. You hear it mostly from sexists men, but there are also some women I know that think that. Though these same women, and some men, are also ones that say "I don't care about politics, it doesn't affect me.... why is everything so expensive."

According to post-election polls, Harris would've won the election if she had supported a ceasefire in Gaza, so she absolutely is wrong. I haven't seen anything that substantiates the "it's because she's a woman" theory but liberals seem to insist on pushing it.

They're trying to distract from how establishment democrats refuse to raise taxes for the ruling class.

And it's working.

[-] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

establish democrats are part of the ruling class. nobody votes to raise taxes on themselves.

And how many people would vote for her because she's a woman? There were plenty of people who voted for Hillary for that very reason.

Those peoples votes are in the areas that don't elect presidents though.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Swing states exist because there are a mix of People with different political opinions voting there. And that (unfortunately) is also true when it comes to identity politics.

I did not vote for Clinton or Harris.

I would vote for AOC.

I predict that the first woman president will be a Republican.

[-] Muffi@programming.dev 4 points 6 months ago

It will be Erika Kirk in 2032. Calling it now.

Hillary and Kamala didn't lose because they were women.

They lost because they are part of the establishment.

These ghouls still don't get it, and they probably never will. They need to be dragged out, kicking and screaming.

Hillary beat Trump by millions of votes though. If those votes were in different states, things would be different. That being said Sanders would have likely won by more and the electoral college too.

Things have gotten a lot worse since 2016 though. Ideas that we looked cemented have completely regressed.

[-] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

and why have they gotten worse?

oh yeah, the rampant corruption!

[-] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 3 points 6 months ago

Don't run and please for the sake of God don't talk about politics again. You and your husband have ruined things enough already.

[-] zaki_ft@lemmings.world 4 points 6 months ago

I agree.

We need to stop supporting politicians of the Clinton-lineage, which the Obamas and Bidens certainly are a part of.
