When scrolling through sync, theres an ad that makes an audible pop sound the moment its scrolled on, as if it were trying to play sound and it got the first millisecond or so out before the mute was applied. Its really annoying and i only started noticing it in the past couple days

Sync has ads?

Get any other Lemmy app. I like Thunder, but there's a flavour out there for everyone. Try three over a week

Of course it has. Dev abandoned the app and is now making quick cash from the people still left using his app.

It's time to move on. This app has been abandoned without any communication from the developer.

Summit, Voyager, etc are all very good. They might not be as good as Sync once was, but Sync right now isn't even as good as it once was.

I just downloaded Voyager, it's very clear that Sync is now abandonware.

Yea, ljdawson has been absent for long periods before, but 2 years is just too much. I think I downloaded Boost and I might try Voyager once my subscription is fully ended. I already stopped the automatic renewal, even though I have defended Sync and ljdawson over the years, but it has become time to move on I think.

If you’re one of the veterans still using this app like me, please consider using a custom DNS like DNSForge to cut off the income to the developer who has completely abandoned his own app.
