The only time I've been able to use PVR/IPTV is with MX Linux xfce DE. For my other Linux I can sometimes build the packages and get it working (Ubuntu gnome, Fedora gnome, mx Linux KDE)

I'm just trying to get plutotv PVR to work without messing around with building and finding different addon dependencies.

I see posts about the issue... I don't understand why it's like this though? How come installing Kodi seems to have different results?

Seems like a basic thing...

I'm pretty sure there's an official legal plutotv addon for pvr... I'm not home at the moment but I use it. I will say it's a little wonky and the streams needs restarted once and awhile.

I use to cut down the amount of channels as over 2k seems to crash Kodi for me: https://m3u4u.com/

I've tried simpleclient. I didn't try reducing channels.

With simpleclient and the open source IPTV list I've never been able to get info for the channels.

How does reducing channels work are you like... Able to load the playlist on the site you linked to and create a new one by selection?
