I am pooped. I just finished cleaning the car. Why is it, sometimes no matter how much you soap the car up when you rinse it, you seem to have missed a giant patch. Happens to me every time.

Can’t believe I’m also up to Alone S9. You think I’d get over it given that the premise is essentially the same, but I really dig it. Still solidifies I’d die in the wilderness if left to my own devices. I’m going to have to brush up on my apocalyptic skills. Hehe.

Wargh, when I have a good day it's like I live in another realm and don't need to eat till 11pm and am effortlessly up till way too late going over everything 2454952 times - but I think The Stupid Project With The Boss that's been dragging on for far too long is finally, well and truly, completely, DONE as far as my involvement goes - I can draw a line through that now.

A really fun project I quoted before got accepted after months, but I'm no longer going to be able to do any of the work on it, most likely. Bittersweet but still for the best. Whoever ends up going better be effing grateful they get to hike in and out of a very beautiful part of the world (and even camp overnight!) to look at plants and record some simple things πŸ₯²

We're now down to the actual thing I stayed on to do. Chances are it won't get done for a while but if I can set up the bones before I go I can chip away at it when I'm sick of family and when I get back. I want to be done by the end of November. Eyes on the prize...

🎢🎢 Wherever you are, we're just getting started

Out of the dark, into the highlands

Give me your heart, I wanna hide it

And I can't keep waiting for things to change 🎢🎢

Got all the sheets and stuff washed and dried, woot!

And I cleared out my fridge!! It might not look the most appetising, but this pasta in kale sauce is WINNING - and extremely cheap! Uses a few different pots but not hard to do at all and can be quite quick. Great way to use up heaps of kale as well... And not get the bastard stuck between your newly cleaned teeth...

deets

Followed this recipe in the NYT except for step 1, where I instead slow cooked a mirepoix (carrot, celery and onion chopped finely), along with the finely chopped kale ribs, and added some good stock powder, garlic powder (and garlic infused olive oil), and some herbs (dried thyme and oregano, some rosemary from the balcony). And threw in some chickpeas at the end as that tin's been sitting in my pantry for far too long.

I also finally gave my rather dusty and overgrown prostrate rosemary on the balcony a long overdue haircut - this is about 1/3 of the plant's bulk, it was pretty much poking into the downstairs neighbour's balcony... There's too many dead flowers and gunk in all that shit, I'll try to clean up a bit but I think most of it is going in the green bin sadly.

Kitchen's tidied, now to head to Leo's, pick up all the good shit, and make my bed (ughhhhhhhhghhghh but I'll thank myself for it later).

The things you can do when the sun's out...

Mr P uses rosemary as kebab stick. Every time the rosemary gets a cut, he strips off all the foliage, and sharpens one end with a good knife. Instant flavour infusing meat cooking stick. Apologies if you're a vegetarian, but it might also work well with skewers of vegetables.

That's an amazing idea! Sadly, I am far too uncoordinated and lazy to do skewers for one person, but I must keep that in mind for future opportunities

A fair few steps closer to finishing this drip system. Installed the backflow / filter pressure things and the air release / flush valves. All strapped in not a single leak ominous synth noises so far. Timers aren't hallucinating all looking good.
