That is a terrifying scenario
My God, this is so horrible. Imagine what it must be like for the people in that sub. Do they not have fuel to surface? I'd prefer to surface in the middle of no where instead of running down an oxygen clock.
It's probably the surfacing that is the issue. Also, the entire capsule is bolted together: they can't just open a hatch when they surface 😬
