Yes! We met and discussed important wetshaving business, slow auto complete on Lemmy user mentions, and lambda calculus, as one does on a fair Saturday morning😊
It was great to meet you, thanks for making the time!
On a side note, we really need to fix that auto completion issue, I didn't get the notification of this mention because of a typo in my username. 😅
It was very nice being able to put a face on the username! In person meetups are good, but it will probably be difficult to organize (I guess djundjila and davewave are on the right side of the pond, so it's not completely impossible 😂)

@[email protected] is also on our side of the pond, we are legion! 🤝
I see! It seems I apply a default presumption of Estadounidensitad
I'd definitely be up for a European wetshavers meet-up next year!
Depends on the crowd I guess... If it's one of primarily older gentlemen, I fear you won't have much luck! 😁 /s
In all seriousness though, meeting other wetshavers is cool and I hope you'll have a blast!
I had some car issues which turned out to be less severe to fix than I thought - after the mechanic at my car dealer gave me a list (they're hopelessly overcrowded with appointments unfortunately), I made an online appointment consultation and the independent workshop might soon confirm it. Good, as I only intend to drive my current car for two more years before upgrading.
In cooler news, I got myself an Xbox Series X on a Friday the 13th and everything went smoothly! Setting it up was a pretty fast affair, downloading my games is what took me the longest 😅 Already played for a few hours, it's nice to get back into regular gaming. I think games of any kind - be it board, card or video games - are a nice distraction from everyday troubles and a welcome challenge and stimulus for our brains.
Along the same lines as @[email protected], my wife got semi-stranded by her car. She was able to start it and drive to an errand, but it wouldn't start a second time.
I've heard modern car batteries don't give you much notice, but geeze! She got a jump from AAA and I installed a new battery from NAPA. I was pretty discouraged when the new battery didn't fix it... it turns out the new battery wasn't fully charged. We jumped it and let it charge for a while and all is good.
We also had to have our well worked on and our driveway got sealed so we can't drive on it for another few days. Lots of maintenance/repairs going on!
Ah, sometimes it seems like everything breaks at the same time, doesn't it?! I can sympathize with your wife, I also once was stranded due to an empty car battery.
Hope everything is fixed for you and it goes back to normal soon! Especially the well. Bacterial infections are really dangerous.
