The sights are nice imo
Well, they work. And they'll be around forever. And an irregular militia is definitely not top of the list for getting the latest and greatest equipment. At least they're reliable.
The red shirt is not a great look, I am sorry to say.
Only need to kill once with them then you get a free upgrade. - Che Guevara probably
But also please get these men some modernized AKs or smth idk.
Hey if the Mosin-Nagant worked for The End in MGS3, it'll work for these guys!
Wait does the SRA actually suggest a mosin over other rifles?
No or at least I hope not, I'm referring to discussions I've seen on the unaffiliated SRA subreddit wherein people do sometimes suggest it as a practical purchase. They usually get talked down but there are a few defenders. I haven't checked in there regularly in several years so I couldn't say how that has changed. It is mostly a meme. Also back in the late 90s through possibly the early 00s they could be had very inexpensively often bundled with cleaning kits and ammo, so there was at least some rationale.
i have a lot of opinions about Mosins but I can't deny that they'll be around forever. They work.
Does anyone know what make/model those Mosins are though? I mean I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them are WW1/WW2 relics, but I'd guess a bunch of them are Type 53 Chinese Mosins too.
They lack the bayonet and look too long to be 53s, probably just 91/30s
Also do these opinions happen to include that the safety really loves taking bits of your flesh and that the cosmoline will never come out no matter how much you bake it? Or is it the stubborn bolt? I see YouTube videos of people with their ultra smooth mosin bolts and I wonder how they got it like that. Luck of the draw I guess.
They say Hexbear has the best gun-knowers!
i was reading somewhere recently they were in the process of giving them modernized small arms a couple years ago
i imagine it's been a slow process (also they need like a million guns
Yeah the image didn't have any context and it was in a Yemen solidarity post. I assume these are mobilized people's defense units of some sort and pretty low on the priority list for getting fresh arms. It is still a cool pic and people kind of meme on the Mosin so I thought to share. Someone in the news mega posted a nakedcapitalism article about Colombia threatening to move away from US-supplied armaments, I don't know much more than what I learn here but it'll be interesting to see how that shakes out.
Its said that WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones. But that's wrong. There will be Mosin-Nagants.
NATOpedia lists 7.62x54R as entering service in 1891, so that doesn't sound too far fetched.
Mosin nagant 91/30 except it's 91/(20)30 modernized.
yeah i imagine it would be something like this. come on little mil factory...
Heh I just saw this, yeah 1.004M needed indeed. I think that is an HOI4 mod? The days when a game could latch me in feel passed but that does look fun.
hopefully these are just parade rifles or something.
What's up with those shirts, is that Chavez?
Flamethrowers are useful in a jungle environment
Couldn't they get a license for making rifles from china? anyhow clips are still good for a non traditional army, the PLA of Chinese preferred Siminovs over klashinikovs for a while for that reason if my memory serves me right
