Yes it's Lewis's fault, but he had a really strong move on the outside and with soft tires. It was a matter of inches. If Russel goes a little bit harder on his brakes or stays inside just a little bit and Hamilton stays out just a bit, this is a story of a ballsy overtake.

It didn't pan out. Both drivers blamed the other then both blamed themselves (then George realized he wasnt (less?) at fault and blamed lewis again).

TBH, I think team orders should have been to, unless Russell got a clear jump off the line, let Hamilton send it in the first corner on his softs to try and get in front of and/or slow down verstappen while Russells tires came up to temp.

I agree with this assessment completely. Especially after the pre-race talks about working as a team to keep the Ferrari's at bay. I was almost expecting what you described after seeing Lewis on the softs and how much of a short term advantage they offered yesterday.

While not at "fault", it was dumb of Russel to put his car there. There was no way he was going to be far enough alongside to be given room at the exit; Max was just going to push him off.

I'd like to know the speed differential, looked they George and Max were standing still in comparison.

Two drivers tiptoeing around each other, one sending it around the outside hoping it's enough. Not a great move from Lewis but it's been a season of ups and downs for him.
