Just switched. (sopuli.xyz)

No real point to this other than to say I really Like this distro. I had had it with Windows, and in a fit of inspired rage, did a clean install of Pop. Besides a few hiccups (extensions loading properly and picking the wrong Nvidia drivers) its been smooth sailing.

Welcome aboard

Glad to have you! Let us know if you have any issues. Out of pure curiosity and joy, what was the rage that triggered it?

It was one of the multiple fullscreen pop ups telling me to upgrade to Windows 11 even though I "wasn't eligible". But more so than that, it was that the buttons just said remind me later. How bout remind me never? Anyways, good riddance.

Welcome to the lighter side. I won't lie, there is a learning curve, but nothing like it used to be. The annoyance of learning is much lower than the constant annoyance windows gave you

I agree, I spend more time tweaking my Windows friend's PC to make it less annoying from MS than tweaking my Linux machines to make them works.

I made the switch recently too. It's really smooth.

If you get into customizing/ricing, you should check out the Open Bar extension. I've been playing around with it for a few days, and it does so much that I was looking for.

Open Bar looks pretty neat. I was looking for something like this, thanks!

I'm looking forward to CosmicDE. The beta should drop at the end of the month. You picked a great time to crossover. Welcome.

I've been on alpha since alpha 7. It's great! There have been consistent updates throughout, and any of the minor issues I experienced early in the release have already been fixed.

Are there any issues with gaming? I want to switch soon.

I don't know, sorry. I use Pop on my laptop for general computer use and I only game on a Steam Deck.

I've heard that Alpha 7 has become pretty solid. I'm trying to hold out for Beta, since I use my machine to develop and I need my machine to be stable. I can wait just a couple more weeks. I've held out this long, hahaha.
